My friend and I will be traveling to Easter Island in January and want to know the following about paddle boarding: 1 Is Anakena is the only area with calm waters? 2. Anakena looks like a small body of water. Are you able to paddle out of Anakena and still have calm waters? 3. How much time should we allot to paddle boarding at Anakena? Thank you so much. FYI --We have been paddling for a few years yet would like calm waters.

I hope someone can help.... If I want to go to the beach for a day, and don't want to rent a car, what are my options for getting there if I have a hotel in Hanga Roa? Can I get a cab to drop me off and arrange for the driver to pick me up later? Seems like walking is out of the question, unless I want to spend my whole day walking....

Thanks Colleen for your info. I'll figure out on how to pack a lunch, then. I'm not on a major budget, but won't mind saving wherever I can so I can spend in other areas!
