Absolutely gorgeous and worth seeing! I’m visiting Bozeman from out of town and wanted to visit the Palisade Falls due to its close proximity to where we were staying. I took a small suv rental car a… Full review by Cairo S

Looking for a quick site to visit? This was perfect. To get to falls, walking upward, about a two person-wide paved trail. To get TO water even closer, loose rocks make it very slightly challenging. … Full review by awjabs2018

Good scenery bang for the energy buck here. Great scenery, interesting geology, and easily accessible by moderate hike. The road up to the parking area can be rougher than the hike itself. Full review by montanapescado

Q:
I read in the reviews that the road is really bumpy. Is that true? If yes, is there another road to go to the Palisade Falls?
A:

Q:
Is there a way to get a glimpse of the Falls if the road is closed for "snow melt"?
A:

I am amending my answer, in that Palisade Falls is off the upper road past the reservoir and the reservoir is 19 miles from Bozeman, gaining a couple thousand feet. If you drive to the base of the canyon it is only 10.5 miles up the canyon. The best option is to ride a bicycle while the road is closed, which is what I will be doing. Getting to the upper road is just a drive around the reservoir and there is a parking lot. I meant you could walk to the falls from there, not from the base of Hyalite Canyon. Perhaps you can find an electric bike in Bozeman, but I haven't noticed any there before.
Q:
Would it be safe to drive to the Falls with a 26ft trailered boat and would there be a place to park ?
A:
There is a lower parking lot where you could park it, but no one boats up there, so I can't imagine doing that. FYI the snow won't clear until May there. I would recommend leaving you boat …

There is a lower parking lot where you could park it, but no one boats up there, so I can't imagine doing that. FYI the snow won't clear until May there. I would recommend leaving you boat lower in Hyalite Canyon, where there are a number of campgrounds. As a last resort, leave it at the Reservoir parking lot.
Q:
Can you access hylite canyon this time of year?
A:
Yes, you can access it. It is spring there, so the upper Hyalite Road should be open.
