CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A massive tree is blocking all lanes of Monroe Road in southeast Charlotte. The tree is down at Monroe Road near Colonnade Drive. It likely fell during Sunday’s storms and it is unclear if anyone was injured when it came down.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating a shooting involving off-duty officers late Saturday night, and a man died on the scene. The shooting happened on Wilkinson Boulevard at the Coyote Joe’s nightclub just a few minutes from Charlotte-Douglas International Airport.
