FLORENCE, Ky. (WKRC) - One person was found dead in a condo fire in Florence Wednesday afternoon. The roof of the building partially collapsed. Emergency crews were called to the condo complex on Langshire Court at about 1:30 p.m. The person was found dead in the home. The coroner's office is still confirming the person's identity.

A Nigerian man has been extradited to the US to face charges in the “sextortion” of a South Carolina teen who died by suicide in 2022. Prosecutors allege the scammer posed as a young woman, persuaded 17-year-old Gavin Guffey to send him nude photos and then threatened to publicize them if Guffey didn’t send money.

One person is dead following a Florence apartment fire Wednesday. The fire happened around 1:30 p.m. on Langshire Court, according to the Florence Fire/EMS Department. Crews arrived to find “heavy fire conditions,” the department said.
