A federal appeals court denies a bid to block release of special counsel Jack Smith's report on Donald Trump's efforts to overturn his 2020 election loss.

Special counsel Jack Smith’s report on his election subversion and January 6, 2021, investigation of Donald Trump can be made public, a federal appeals court ruled Thursday, while leaving in place a lower judge’s three-day hold that could give Trump time to ask the Supreme Court to intervene.

The judges left in place a lower-court injunction that bars the disclosure of the report for three days, and the Justice Department then appealed it.
