Taylor Kitsch says he’s been asked to be part of the new Friday Night Lights Peacock reboot. It was announced in 2024 that Universal Television was developing a reboot of Friday Night Lights, the acclaimed television series starring Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton that premiered in 2006 and ran for five seasons.

Taylor Kitsch is open to returning to Friday Night Lights, but he wouldn't want to stay very long. With a reboot of the mid-2000s football drama series in the works at Universal Television, Kitsch addressed his potential involvement with the new show during a Tuesday appearance on SiriusXM's The Spotlight with Jessica Shaw.

Lights officially coming back for a reboot, one of the leading stars of the original series, Taylor Kitsch, has come out to address the possibilities of his return. The sports drama made its small-screen debut in 2006 and conveyed the journey of a troubled high-school football team.

While discussing the reboot of the hit NBC drama on Sirius XM’s “The Spotlight with Jessica Shaw” (via ET ), series star Kitsch said he’s “been asked” to come back for it. And although he remains open to returning to the field in some capacity, don’t expect him to stick around for more than “an episode.”

With the reboot of the beloved series Friday Night Lights currently in the works, there have been questions on whether original star Taylor Kitsch will be returning in the new version.

Kitsch, who played Tim Riggins in the original series, addressed the reboot on Sirius XM’s The Spotlight with Jessica Shaw.
