Firefighter, 22, one of two Texas Tech students killed in crash with semi
MARTIN COUNTY, Texas (KVII) — A Paducah, Texas, firefighter was one of two people killed in a crash with a semitruck. Jack (Lorin) Parks, 22, and Shelby Carroll, 19, were killed when, according to DPS, Carroll's Jeep Wrangler rear-ended a semi Thursday afternoon on State Highway 349 in Martin County.

The fatal collision occurred at approximately 1:45 p.m. Thursday along State Highway 349, mile marker 300. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, 19-year-old Shelby Carroll of Huffmann and 22-year-old Lorin Parks of Paducah were both pronounced dead at the scene of the incident by Judge Jarrell Hedrick.
