KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Per multiple reports, Tennessee defensive coordinator Tim Banks is finalizing an extension to remain in the same position with the Vol football team. Banks’ contract is set to expire at the end of January. He had been linked to the defensive coordinator positions at Clemson and Miami.

Banks joined Tennessee in 2021 as one of Josh Heupel's first picks when he took over. UT said Banks helped build the defense into "one of the best in the nation."
