Maharashtra has largely avoided voting on caste (lines). There was a time when the BJP had (OBC) stalwarts like Gopinath Munde, N S Farande, Anna Dange, which led to consolidation of the Vanjari community. But I don’t see it happening to that extent now.

A bench comprising Justice Surya Kant and Justice Ujjal Bhuyan told the Ajit Pawar faction that they must fight the elections under their own identity and refrain from using Sharad Pawar’s name during the electioneering.
