A Fall River man has won a $1 million prize on a scratch ticket, and a local trust has claimed a second $1 million lottery prize won a ticket sold in Brockton.

The player, who nicknamed himself "Fateful 56," bought the $10 Jumbo Bucks ticket at a Shell gas station at 2474 N. Thatcher Avenue in River Grove, about 15 miles northwest of downtown Chicago.

Silva chose to receive his prize in the form of a one-time payment of $650,000, before taxes. He purchased his winning ticket at Kam’s Food Mart, 376 2nd St. in Fall River.
