MOUNT AIRY, N.C. — A small bear cub was spotted in Mount Airy city limits Wednesday, police said. The first sighting was reported around 7:30 a.m. on West Pine Street near Independence Boulevard.
Along with the usual tourists who visit Mount Airy at this time of year has come a furry visitor to town — a brown bear that’s been spotted several times in recent days.
