Ridership on the bus route increased from 132 monthly riders in October 2015 to an average of 2,000 each month in 2017.
The 935 route in Streetly will be replaced with the new 998 service. Bus services 20 and 20A will be scrapped and replaced with the X20 Birmingham to Bromsgrove route.
