A woman has been charged in the Monday night shooting death of her ex-boyfriend in Birmingham. Vivian Simone Brantley, 24, is charged with murder in the slaying of 47-year-old Damian Dawson, a father of five.

Birmingham Fire and Rescue Services took Dawson to UAB Hospital where he was pronounced dead. According to Officer Truman Fitzgerald, the shooting stemmed from a domestic violence incident. Anyone with information pertaining to the case is asked to call BPD at (205) 254-1764.
