The university says the Fighting Irish will take on Wake Forest at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina, as part of the 2027 Duke’s Mayo Classic. The game is also part of Notre Dame’s existing scheduling agreement with the ACC.

Notre Dame and Wake Forest are scheduled to play in the 2027 season as part of the ACC schedule for the Irish, but the game will now have a unique aspect to it. The Fighting Irish and Demon Deacons will play that game as part of the Duke's Mayo Classic.

The only previous visit to Charlotte for Notre Dame football came in the ACC Championship game in December of 2020, a 34-10 loss to Clemson.
