LG has unveiled the latest generation of its OLED TV panels, and the tech could be a genuine game-changer. The fourth-gen OLED panels are 33% brighter than predecessors, delivering brightness of up to 4,000 nits – a first for OLED tech.

It’s been a little more than a week since LG’s 2025 OLED TV lineup was revealed at CES 2025. During the showcase, LG dropped quite a big bombshell: Its top two OLED TVs, the G and M Series, would no longer be leveraging Micro Lens Array (MLA) display technology to enhance panel brightness.

The Primary RGB Tandem structure applied to the fourth-generation OLED TV panel organizes the light source into four stacks by adding two layers of blue elements and independent layers of red and green elements. It improves maximum brightness by increasing the amount of light produced by each layer compared to the previous structure.

LG dropped new versions of its flagship OLED and QNED TVs at CES, and as of Jan. 16, 2023 and 2024 flagship LG models have gotten discounts at Best Buy for up to $1,500 off. In case you forgot, LG is the authority on cool screens.
