Local artist Lori Caccamo, the designer behind the City of Visalia’s new logo, received a special recognition Monday, (Aug. 5) night by city council that comes with a $1,500 prize.
After some discussion at the Oct. 1 meeting, logo design 3, which features “Tulare” in colorful capital letters with the silhouettes of images the city is known for, was chosen by a 3-2 vote.
Megan Rupp submitted the first and second place selections for the new logo design and received an $800 prize at the Board's Sept. 12 meeting. Rupp's design was one of 28 received in the competition.
The city then spent $150,000 on a rebranding effort, a cost that included photos, videos, and templates to market the city, as well as a new logo.
Hamilton County said goodbye to their tried-and-true logo and revealed a new and cohesive design. In a press release, the county debuted a 'fresh' logo that is consistent across all departments.
On Monday, the foundation announced a logo design contest for local students and artist that will run through March 16.
