The new icon is identical to the Copilot one, instead of the blue and purple Microsoft 365 icon that’s used right now. Microsoft has been struggling with its Copilot branding recently.

This also included a logo change from the Microsoft 365 icon to one that looks like Copilot's but has a little "M365" at the bottom right. I admit, these changes by themselves aren't a huge deal.

After 32 years, Microsoft has begun to kill off the Microsoft Office brand, with plans to rebrand its Office.com and Office cloud-based apps to Microsoft 365 in the near future.

Once you're signed in to Office 365 in Chrome, an Install icon will appear at the top right of the address bar. It looks like a computer monitor with a downward pointing arrow.
