For a word-freak like me, this certainly sounds like a MUST-SEE documentary, one I might even buy on DVD later. It got me thinking about good old Helvetica, and how it's always been one of my favs.
Calibri has been Word’s default font since 2007, when it replaced Times New Roman. Now it’s being kicked to the kerb for one of five new custom fonts that Microsoft has commissioned.
Since the last update, Microsoft Word uses Aptos instead of Calibri as the default font. If you don't like this font, you can easily switch to Calibri or another font.
You can, by the way, easily customize Word's default font. From the Format tab, you select Font. Choose the font and font size you like, and then select Default and click OK.
This shortcut works in Word 2007 and 2010; I’m not sure about Word 2003 and earlier (as I’m no longer running that version), so I invite any reader who has it to hit the comments and let me know.
