Ensure the stakes reach a depth of at least 18 inches. Push the tree trunk, repositioning it so it’s upright. Wearing work gloves can help you get a better grip, and prevent splinters.
One stake per tree is usually enough, but I sometimes use two in windy areas. Drive stakes into the ground at least 16 inches so they are sturdy.
