Raytheon Technologies ‘ (NYSE: RTX) Pratt & Whitney subsidiary has proposed its F100-PW-229 engine for the U.S. Air Force’s Boeing -built (NYSE: BA) F-15EX fighter aircraft.
Currently produced in Middletown, Connecticut, the original F100 engines powering the Polish F-16 fleet were manufactured at Pratt & Whitney's Rzeszów facility.
Pratt & Whitney expects to support the venerable F100 fighter engine for another half-century, as the 1970s-era powerplant continues in service on both new and old platforms.
