SAN FRANCISCO - Starting on Monday, San Francisco will begin alerting drivers to a new parking restriction. The rule prohibits parking within 20 feet of any crosswalk in the direction of traffic.

Starting Monday, drivers parked too close to an intersection in San Francisco will receive warnings. Then, beginning in January, $40 fines will be handed out.

The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency says about 5% of the city's 275,000 street parking spaces will be impacted. Ginger Conejero Saab has the full report in the video above.
