Authorities say Arvel Jones, Sr., 51, of Arbutus, died as a result of the shooting, and Baltimore County Police Detective Todd Wiedel, a 28-year veteran of the department, fired the deadly shot.

The shooting occurred at Lakewood’s Harry Todd Park at approximately 8 p.m., according to the Lakewood Police Department. Seven people were injured in the shooting and sent to nearby hospitals.
