BROOK PARK, Ohio -- Regarded by many as NASA’s most successful science mission, the Hubble Space Telescope was launched into space aboard the Space Shuttle Discovery 35 years ago, on April 24, 1990.
Rather than abandon the Hubble, NASA fixed the problem. The first servicing mission, undertaken by the space shuttle Endeavour in December 1993, carried out several repairs and enhancements.
