Oscar-nominated actor Andra Day has been tapped to play Athena, the Greek Goddess of Wisdom and Annabeth’s mom, in the upcoming second season of Disney+’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians. The casting was reveiled at D23 in Brazil with a video of Day in character posted across the show’s social media accounts.

As production continues on Percy Jackson Season 2, Disney has officially announced the casting of Grammy winner and Oscar nominee Andra Day (The United States vs. Billie Holiday) in the next installment of the hit Disney+ series.
