The newest weight-loss drugs, Wegovy and Zepbound, are incredibly popular. But doctors are still learning about all of the ways they affect the body—both helpful and harmful—beyond reducing weight. In report published in Nature Medicine,

Wegovy is a GLP-1 agonist containing semaglutide, the same active ingredient as Ozempic. While both medications share this ingredient, they are approved for different purposes. Ozempic is primarily used for managing type 2 diabetes, whereas Wegovy is specifically approved for weight loss.

Its weight-loss drug policy would fall to Trump's pick for health secretary, Robert F Kennedy Jr, and Mehmet Oz, Trump's choice to lead Medicare and Medicaid services. But this could mean a potential clash: Kennedy is a vocal critic of the weight-loss drugs while Oz is an ardent advocate.

Novo Nordisk said a higher dose of its drug Wegovy led to greater weight loss in patients during a late-stage trial, but the results fell short of the weight loss achieved with Eli Lilly's rival drug Zepbound,
