The Madras High Court today said that the alleged sexual assault case at Anna University is "being politicised".

We all are co-accused in such crimes," Justice P Velmurugan of Madras High Court said on Thursday.The judge made the observation while wondering why the Anna University rape case is being politicised instead of authorities concentrating on improving women's safety.

The memorandum, submitted by ABVP's national secretary, Shravan P. Raj, highlighted the incident of sexual harassment at Anna University and the law and order situation in Tamil Nadu. It also condemned the arrest of ABVP students who were protesting peacefully and democratically.

A committee formed by the National Commission of Women arrived at Anna University to investigate the sexual assault of a 19-year-old student within the campus on December 23.
