A Georgia state senator who was previously banned from the state House chamber has been arrested after he tried to enter the chamber for the governor’s state of the state speech

Conservative state Sen. Colton Moore was banned from the lower chamber last year, after he made disparaging statements about the late-Georgia state Speaker David Ralston. Moore's outburst at the time was condemned by lawmakers on both sides.

You cannot impede a General Assembly session,” Moore said as he tried to push his way past House staffers who were blocking the door. “I have a constitutional obligation to attend.”

According to arrest warrants, Moore is charged with one misdemeanor count of Willful Obstruction of Law Enforcement Officers.
