Strong storms are heading to the Houston area on Thursday afternoon, prompting the KHOU 11 Weather Team to issue a Weather Impact Alert from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Thursday will bring the combination of muggy air, a cold front and a strong upper-level disturbance. Expect at least a scattering, and possibly a line of strong to severe storms including the slight chance for a tornado or high winds.

We won't see much sunshine this week, but the good news is that we also won't have any more frigid air. Expect cloudy skies again on Tuesday, occasional drizzle and seasonably cool air with highs between 60 and 65 and lows in the 50s.
