Two separate shootings overnight in Phenix City led to the death of two people and another who was critically injured. The first shooting occurred at 8:50 p.m. Friday night at the Dollar General located at 109 Seal Road. Matthew Brooks III, 28 years old, was found dead at the scene.

PHENIX CITY, Ala. (WTVM) - A person has died after an incident at a retailer in Phenix City, according to Russell County Coroner Arthur Sumbry Jr. According to Sumbry Jr., the shooting occured at Dollar General on South Seale Road. The situation prompted a heavy law enforcement presence in the area Friday night.

One man is dead and a woman is in critical condition following a Saturday morning shooting in the 1000 block of North Railroad Street in Phenix City. Police say the shooting happened around 4 a.m. and is still under investigation.
