Almost four years down the line, Sony has issued a DMCA takedown request against an unofficial Bloodborne patch that allows it to run at 60 frames-per-second. The news comes via the mod's creator, Lance McDonald, on social media:

Back in 2021, modder Lance MacDonald released a patch for playing Bloodborne on PlayStation 4 Pro at 60FPS in boost mode. Sony didn’t seem to notice or care. Until now. Almost four years later, the console maker and publisher of this game hit MacDonald with a DMCA request to have the patch removed from the internet.
Bloodborne 60 fps mod targeted by Sony DMCA takedown
All the way back in 2021, a prolific modder and researcher of FromSoftware games, named Lance McDonald, released his magnum opus: a 60 fps mod for Bloodborne. Now, almost four years later, Sony has made the unfortunate decision to issue a DMCA takedown forcing McDonald to stop publicly providing access to the patch files.

“On February 21st, 2021, I created and released a patch for Bloodborne which makes the game run at 60fps,” the talented modder told fans on Twitter. “Today I received a DMCA takedown notification on behalf of Sony Interactive Entertainment asking that I remove links to the patch I posted on the internet, so I’ve now done so.”
