The Old Fort Niagara lighthouse was an important navigational aid for boats on Lake Ontario. Terry Yonker started volunteering at the lighthouse in the mid-1990s.

The lighthouse, which is adjacent to the fort’s parking lot in Fort Niagara State Park, is open free of charge daily from noon to 3 p.m. until Oct. 12.
