A newGoonies movie is reportedly in the works at Warner Bros. According to Deadline, the studio is looking to shift its strategy to proven franchises, and so have put a sequel to the late Richard Donner’s 1985 adventure film into development.

Warner Bros is reportedly developing a new Goonies film, with original writer Chris Columbus set to pen the upcoming movie's treatment.

The beloved horror franchise first launched with Gremlins (obviously), a Christmas horror comedy that helped create the PG-13 rating. Gremlins: The New Batch was released six years later, showcasing a more Looney Tunes vision of Gizmo and his "friends.
