Disgraced film producer Harvey Weinstein begged a Manhattan judge Wednesday to expedite his rape and sexual assault retrial so he can get off Rikers Island alive, telling the jurist he was “gasping for air” at the troubled jail complex.

Harvey Weinstein begged to go on trial earlier than planned, saying he isn't sure he will survive long enough in the "hell hole" of New York's Rikers Island jail complex.

Weinstein was arraigned in September on the count of a criminal sexual act in the first degree, which stemmed from a recent indictment returned by a grand jury. He pleaded not guilty to the charge, which carries a sentence of up to 25 years in prison.
