Daniel Ricciardo might be competing in his final F1 race in Singapore as Red Bull junior Liam Lawson is the favorite to replace him

After losing his McLaren seat at the end of 2022, eight-time grand prix winner Ricciardo returned to F1 midway through 2023 with Red Bull’s sister team, AlphaTauri, now known as RB. He quickly set his sights on returning to the senior Red Bull team, where he raced between 2014 and 2018.

Red Bull therefore have quite the dilemma on their hands as to whether to extend Ricciardo's contract with RB, promote him back up to the main team to replace an underperforming Perez, or potentially end his F1 career for good at the end of this year.

Conflicting reports claim Ricciardo will only be replaced after the Singapore GP, with Lawson set to be brought in during the four-week break before the United States Grand Prix on October 20. Meanwhile, other outlets have claimed Red Bull may wait until the 2025 season to bring Lawson in.
