PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN) — A hiker was found dead on Mt. Hood Monday after not returning from a hike, authorities said. According to the Hood River County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a report on Sunday that Robert Tveite, 38, didn’t return home from his day hike the previous day.

The body of a man who went missing while hiking on Mt. Hood has been recovered, according to the Hood River County Sheriff’s Office.

MOUNT HOOD, Ore. — Search and rescue teams recovered the body of an overdue hiker on Mount Hood on Monday, the Hood River County Sheriff's Office said on Wednesday. The hiker was identified as 38-year-old Robert Tveite of Portland.

A Portland man died last weekend while hiking the Cooper Spur Trail area of Mount Hood. His body was recovered on Monday.
