Two people were killed, and three others injured, in a Wednesday afternoon shooting, the Memphis Police Department said.

One man died at the scene. Another man died a short time later at the hospital. A woman and two other men were injured in the shooting, police said.

A Wednesday afternoon shooting in South Memphis, near LeMoyne-Owen College, is being investigated by the Memphis Police Department.

Multiple first responders are outside LeMoyne-Owen College, including several ambulances, after a shooting in an adjacent neighborhood Tuesday afternoon.

A woman told FOX13 she pulled into the neighborhood minutes after the shooting happened and saw a man lying in front of a house near the shooting scene with a gunshot wound. She sat with him and tried to help until paramedics could arrive,
