FORECAST: Lower rain chances heading into the weekend
Looking ahead to the weekend, the drier air will continue to move in on a northeast breeze and that will keep our rain chances low. We are looking at a 20-30% chance of isolated showers and storms. High temperatures over the weekend will stay in the low 90s with heat index values feeling more like 97-99°.

Clouds and the chance for showers are going to linger from overnight Wednesday into early Friday. The weekend forecast, however, hinges on the battle between high pressure from Canada to the north and low pressure to the southeast.
Late week heat, weekend rain chances rise
Rain chances will be on the rise too. Early Friday morning starts mainly dry but rain will start to move into Southwest Kansas and the Oklahoma Panhandle by the afternoon. More moisture streams into the area through the rest of the day and the evening is looking damp.
