Responding Officers located a male victim in the yard of a residence located near the intersection of South Hopkins Street and Ambassador W. LeMelle Drive. The victim was transported by Ambulance to a Lafayette hospital where he remains in critical condition.

The New Iberia Police Department began investigating a shooting in the 700 block of South Hopkins Street on Saturday, January 18, just before 3 a.m. Responding

A shooting in New Iberia left one in critical condition and caused a six-hour standoff between police and suspected shooter.

After reviewing evidence and conducting interviews, Detectives identified three suspects involved in the incident. Arrest Warrants were obtained on all three individuals. Joseph Thibodeaux, Jr. Floyd Hill, Jr. All three individuals are considered armed and dangerous.

The New Iberia Police Department began investigating a shots fired incident in the area of Lee Street and Park Avenue on Thursday, January 16, around noon.

The 29-year-old is suspected in a shooting Saturday near the intersection of South Hopkins Street and Ambassador W. LeMelle Drive. The victim is in critical condition.
