A 26-foot-tall statue of the Egyptian god Anubis is coming to downtown St. Paul Tuesday to publicize the King Tut exhibit that opens Feb. 11 at the Science Museum of Minnesota.

The god of the dead is coming. A 32-foot-tall statue of the Egyptian deity Anubis will soon stand sentinel at the corner of Pershing Road and Main Street.

Each of the 250 coffins discovered contains mummies, they added. According to Reuters, archaeologists also found statues of the gods Anubis, Amun, Min, Osiris, Isis, Nefertum, Bastet and Hathor.

The statue will be in place for the King Tut exhibit opening up later this month. Anubis was the Egyptian God of the underworld that protected spirits, according to toureygpt.net.
