The Portland Trail Blazers will be taking on the Los Angeles Lakers tonight for their first game in the 2025 year. Entering this game, it seems that Portland may see a shorthanded Lakers squad, possibly giving them an opening to snatch the game.

Over the last few games the Los Angeles Lakers have gotten outstanding performances from guard Austin Reaves. While he has always been consistent, Reaves has been at an even higher level than normal over the past week despite absences from Anthony Davis and LeBron James in separate contests.

Lakers star Anthony Davis is questionable for the upcoming game against the Portland Trail Blazers due to a left ankle sprain. Despite recently performing well, Davis's presence remains uncertain. The Lakers have added Dorian Finney-Smith,

Davis suffered an ankle sprain on Christmas Day against the Warriors. He played just seven minutes in that game but did not miss the next game against the Kings. In fact, he has played in each of the last two games against Sacramento and the Cavaliers, playing at least 37 minutes in each matchup.
