The last time Charlotte saw measurable snow, at least one-tenth of an inch, was in 2022. Now, there is a winter storm watch for the area. Power restored in East Greensboro ahead of winter storm

Parts of East Greensboro went dark today. Duke Energy has decided to turn off power in some homes and repair damaged equipment.

Duke Energy crews are preparing for potential outages by equipping trucks and getting ready for the challenges ahead.

Duke Energy will suspend power from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. to repair damage to substation equipment, in advance of Friday’s forecasted snowfall.
