DETROIT (FOX 2) - Eastern Market officials and those holding events there are trying to return to normal. On Sunday two men were shot and killed during a tailgating event for the Lions game outside Shed 6. On Thursday Eastern Market After Dark was held as well as a second event - with increased security. The events were packed throughout the night.

Officials say the decision was made after consulting with city representatives, small businesses, and neighbors.

The shooter pulled his gun and fired once, hitting the armed Jalen Welch in the head. The bullet went through Welch, and hit the second victim, Rayshawn Palmer- who was trying to act as a peacemaker.
