Nov 5, 2024 · From the presidential election to business and theater, Horned Frogs are in the news. The Fort Worth Zoo announced the release of a record-breaking number of Texas horned lizards into their native range. An incredible 301 of the 617 Texas horned lizards released were hatched at the Fort Worth Zoo.

The TCU Horned Frogs are the athletic teams that represent Texas Christian University. The 18 varsity teams participate in NCAA Division I and in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) for football, competing mostly in the Big 12 Conference.

The University uses two special horned frog depictions as additional visual identifiers for TCU: the signature University Frog and the Athletic Frog. Horned frogs are spiked, heavily armored and fiercely territorial. The Texas horned lizard is the state reptile of Texas.

May 6, 2023 · The Fort Worth Zoo (FWZ) is working with Texas Parks and Wildlife Department to evaluate the methods used to reintroduce captive-hatched Texas horned lizards into formerly occupied habitats of North Texas.

Sep 23, 2021 · A team of Texas horned lizard conservationists reached a major milestone this month with the successful release of the 1,000 th captive-born reptile. Working to restore their decimated numbers, the Fort Worth Zoo partnered with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and TCU on reintroduction methodologies.

Nightly dance parties have become a Frog Camp trademark. The Casa Nueva, Cultura and All-Star Frog Camps last three days and introduce students to favorite attractions around Fort Worth, like Billy Bob’s Texas, the Fort Worth Zoo and Sundance Square. The outdoor-themed Challenge and Alpine Frog Camps take students to central Texas and Colorado.
