I'm unable to get Civilization 4 running on Windows 7. First it says: "The program has compatibility issues" When I click "Check for solutions online" it says "No solutions found for Civilization 4."

I then dowloaded and installed the latest patch (ver 1.61) also using the Run as Administrator option. Apart from installing the patch Firaxis and 2K offer no advice.

Civ 4 & Civ4 Complete use SafeDisk copy protection, and the Colonization expansion uses SecuROM copy protection. Some versions of both of these forms of DRM are being blocked by MS. Feb 2, 2018 · Civilization IV on Windows 10 (should also work with other older games too) I've seen a few posts saying that civilisation IV no longer works after the windows 10 update. I had this same issue just after the update and wrote a blog post detailing how to fix it.
