Without a WPS, CWI or calibrated machines the welder cert is technically irrelevant. (i.e who is enforcing it?) Welding certs are in the context of a specific code, like BPVC or D1.1.

Any CWI can test you, but only ATC will file the paperwork with the AWS. You'd have to ask the place who tested you. ATC & the AWS program are a double edge sword.

FC is with a backer, the rest are open root. There is also a D17.1 (aerospace tig test) and a handful of ASME pipe tests.
